AKAMAI DEVELOPER WEBINAR

March 2019 Release

The Akamai March 2019 Release is here, and we are seriously looking forward to sharing it with you. The release includes a wide range of technologies that make Akamai’s intelligent edge platform stronger than ever for developers and admins. In this live webinar on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019, at 10am PDT, we’ll introduce you to those technologies, while taking a deeper dive on a few of the topics and giving you an opportunity to engage in Q&A with Akamai experts.

Webinar deep-dive topics:

Purging content by cache tag

This feature lets you selectively purge user-defined groups of content via a single call. For example, if you have a collection of objects that tend to be refreshed at the same time, you can now associate them with a cache tag and later completely delete or invalidate all content possessing this tag with a single purge request. Cache tag purging helps you maximize offload and minimize costs by optimizing your caching strategy.

Bot Manager improvements

Recently, Akamai Bot Manager was named a leader among bot management vendors by Forrester, and with the March 2019 Release it’s getting even more powerful in these four ways:

  • - Unsupervised device-anomaly identification: Bot Manager automatically profiles device characteristics and identifies bots not only based on individual anomalies but also using machine learning to identify anomalies compared against the universe of legitimate clients observed on the Akamai platform.
  • - Adaptive anomaly clustering: Bot Manager now employs adaptive deep learning to analyze behavioral and device data and identify anomalies/deviations from normal patterns; these deviations, when clustered, can indicate a sophisticated bot attacker attempting to mimic human traffic.
  • - New CAPTCHA capability: You can now assign a CAPTCHA response to requests from suspected bots in order to minimize the risk of false positives.
  • - Self-serviceability: Through new self-service controls you can tune the strictness of advanced bot detection settings based on your unique risk profile, providing you with increased protection against false positives and false negatives for your applications.

Akamai Sandbox now in beta

Now in beta, ready for you to test-drive: Akamai Sandbox is an isolated Akamai environment (i.e., a sandbox) that you can use for testing development versions of property configurations before deploying to the content delivery network.

DataStream now available

Akamai DataStream is a newly released reporting API service that lets you monitor all transactions delivered through Akamai's platform.

Introducing the new Akamai Control Center

The Akamai Control Center (traditionally known as the Luna Control Center) sports an elegant new design that makes it easier for you to manage Akamai's products and services.
