Davey Shafik has over 15 years of experience in software development and related technologies. He is a developer evangelist at Akamai, has written several books and numerous articles, and has spoken at conferences around the world. He is best known for his book the Zend PHP Certification Study Guide, and as the creator of PHP Archive (PHAR) for PHP 5.3 and Release Manager for PHP 7.1.

Davey is passionate about improving the tech community. He co-organizes the Prompt initiative (mhprompt.org), dedicated to lifting the stigma surrounding mental health in technology.
