Gerhard Giese started at Akamai in 2010 and is managing the European team of security architects. The team is responsible for customer advisory and consulting services in pre- as well as post sales. With over 20 years of experience in the field of security, he has accumulated in-depth expertise in network-security as well as in DDoS mitigation and data-theft prevention. While being in a management role Gerhard Giese never stopped operating directly and assisting clients showing his expertise as a trusted advisor. In addition he regularly talks at conferences and panels and also works as an independent consultant for federal state authorities.

Elmar Witte started working at Akamai in 2017. He is the Product Marketing Manager Security for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As Data Security Specialist, he is also in charge of topics such as Compliance, Security Certifications and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). After finishing his studies in technical translations and documentation he gathered 18 years of experience within the different marketing functions found in the IT industry. He joined Akamai after a 15-year-long career at Microsoft, where he acted in various product marketing, industry marketing, as well as business development roles.
